2018 Nissan Maxima has been around for quite some time, and the 2018 version is going to have to honor some very old traditions while staying new and competitive. Let’s see how this works in real life.
2018 Nissan Maxima Release Date
There is not set release date, so late 2017 is the best we can do at this time.
Price
The price tag starts at $33,000.
Exterior of Nissan Maxima
From the outside, the 2018 Nissan Maxima looks both lower and longer than before. The headlamps resemble a boomerang and feature latest LED technology.
As for the grille, it is V-shaped and goes deep into the front bumper, making this one extremely aggressive-looking vehicle.
From the sides, it looks like the new Maxima is going to look a bit different, because of the new dimensions.
Apart from that, the panoramic moonroof is also a nice touch, adding to the muscular and aggressive exterior that is already there.
Interior
Guessing the interior of the 2018 Nissan Maxima is not going to be easy, especially if we consider that no actual photos exist at this point. The layout is being compared to the Sport Sedan and apart from the larger HVAC vents and extra buttons they seem to be right.
This would make for a more crowded center stack, but if they get the layout right, this will not be much of a problem. The front seats are rumored to be the innovative Zero Gravity ones, which could mean some very good news to those who like to adjust their seats.
Cloth is the norm for the upholstery, and it is actually pretty good at this level. However, if you prefer leather, it can be arranged, for the right price. There are even leather inserts of the steering wheel and if you really want to go all out, why not go for the Alcantara?
Connectivity should be second to none, with navigation being a standard feature and combined with the infotainment system on an 8-inch touchscreen.
There is voice recognition in there as well, but what you will be staring at the most – apart from the road, hopefully – is the 7-inch display with all the relevant information instead of the standard gauge cluster.
Nissan Maxima Engine
When it comes to the engine hiding underneath the aggressive front fascia of the 2018 Nissan Maxima, there is not a lot to go on.
However, we speculate that it will be just as powerful as the exterior would suggest. This means nothing less than a 3.5 L V-6 is going to be acceptable. This translates into more than 300 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
This is largely on par with the previous model but the real hitch is its fuel consumption which is significantly lower this time around. The new model should be able to cover 30 miles on a single gallon on the highway or 22 in the city.
To be able to get 15% more out of the fuel without sacrificing performance is truly astounding. The transmission is automatic and geared towards maximum performance, as you might expect.
